RFID is a key technology to identify railway vehicles during operations. Vehicle identification according to the European standard EN17230 is being used in Norway and Sweden to identify vehicles along the tracks. With the help of this technology, Railway undertakings can be informed about possible damages such as flat wheels or overheated bearings.
